Rotterdamse Dakendagen x IFFR: Good Time

Cinema and rooftops are a match made in heaven: film history is filled with scenes where the city and its rooftops literally elevate the tension to a new level. And where better to experience these films than on a rooftop? With a nighttime view of the Nieuwe Maas, enjoy an outdoor film on Friday 6 June from the stunning rooftop of Las Palmas.

About Good Time (Benny Safdie & Josh Safdie, 2017)

Good Time is a hypnotic crime thriller about family and fate. The Safdie Brothers (Benny and Joshua) deliver a shot of pure adrenaline, taking you through a night in New York you won’t soon forget. Following in the footsteps of Scorsese and Coppola, they bring pure, cutting-edge cinema to the screen with this film.

After a botched bank robbery in which his younger brother Nick (Benny Safdie) is arrested, Connie (Robert Pattinson) desperately tries to get hold of the bail money to free him. But his plan soon unravels in spectacular fashion, dragging everyone around him into a spiral of violent chaos.

Robert Pattinson (Twilight, Maps to the Stars) is utterly compelling as Connie, gripping the viewer from start to finish. Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) is equally drawn to his raw charisma. Good Time was selected for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won Best Soundtrack.

About Rotterdamse Dakendagen

Rotterdamse Dakendagen aims to show how rooftops could contribute to healthy, lively, inclusive, sustainable, attractive and resilient cities. They do this by organising an annual festival the Rotterdamse Dakendagen (Rooftop Days), where thousands of residents and visitors of the city are welcomed to explore its currently underutilised rooftops, collectively known as the roofscape. The 2025 Dakendagen take place from 29 May to 9 June.
