IFFR Filmclub x The O

Rotterdam-based creative collective The O are known for elevating local talent through projects, collaborations, block parties and plenty more. Join its co-founder Solomon Kifle, together with IFFR, for an evening at Cinerama on 22 January where we’ll screen Chapter O, a behind-the-scenes look at The O, alongside IFFR 2024 Dutch body horror title Trauma Porn Club by Michael Middelkoop, who joins us afterwards for a discussion celebrating artistic community.

Chapter O, Daniëlo Sillé, 2025, Netherlands (50 min)

This documentary made by The O affiliates Daniëlo Sillé, Mohamed Saddik and Daniel Lopes tells the story of the origins and the first year of The O. It portrays a raw view of this creative collective and how this “office” became a hub for creativity in Rotterdam through connections, conversations and just doing it.

Trauma Porn Club, Michael Middelkoop, 2024, Netherlands (46 mins)

Nova (Sigrid ten Napel) is an aspiring artist who can’t seem to get her career off the ground. She feels the reason is her lack of life experience. While it may seem like there is no quick fix for a problem like this, the dark fetish app Sano offers just that. With a few taps, users can gain traumatic experiences, including torture. Nova connects with her darkest side, but then bites off more than she can chew in this Dutch body horror film.

About the IFFR Filmclub

Filmclub is a new initiative of IFFR, currently in the pilot phase, where (future) film lovers, young filmmakers and creatives come together to watch films and exchange interests. The idea is that the Filmclub will take place biweekly at various locations throughout Rotterdam, where a mix of (inter)national films, both new and true classics, will be shown in a relaxed setting in combination with discussions, workshops or parties. Whether you are discovering cinema for the first time or are already well on your way as a filmmaker, the Filmclub is a place to get inspired, network or just come and watch a film. The club works together with local communities throughout Rotterdam.
