IFFR Filmclub x NNR x Bibliotheek Rotterdam

This month, Netwerk Nieuw Rotterdam (NNR) is focusing on the theme of peace, where creating space to reflect on what peace means is central. That’s why, together with NNR and Bibliotheek Rotterdam, IFFR is hosting a Filmclub evening on the 28th of May. The film Inn a State of Siege by Qali Nur will be screened. She will also be present to give a talk and answer questions. Will you be joining us?

About Inn a State of Siege

The Holiday Inn was a crucial site during the Siege of Sarajevo 1992–1995. Situated along “Sniper Alley”, it housed international journalists. But what of the hotel staff? This revealing documentary gathers accounts from three men who braved daily danger to keep the hotel running.

  • About the IFFR Filmclub

    Filmclub is a community-driven initiative, where (future) film lovers, young filmmakers and creatives come together to watch films and exchange interests. Filmclub takes place once every few weeks, in various locations throughout Rotterdam. IFFR collaborates with some of the coolest cultural hotspots in Rotterdam, such as Dokhuis, Netwerk Nieuw Rotterdam, Theater Zuidplein, Skatelanes, Studium Generale, and more. Here, a mix of (inter)national films, both new and true classics, will be shown in a relaxed setting in combination with discussions, workshops or parties. Building a strong, fun and accessible film community is what Filmclub is all about.

  • About NNR

    Netwerk Nieuw Rotterdam works with young people to build social networks and develop new (social) skills. In doing so, these young people become positively engaged in society and discover the valuable contributions they can make. Especially when someone is not feeling well or is struggling with their mental health, NNR aims to be there for them.
