Suzan Pitt

Suzan PITT (1943–2019, USA) was an American animator, filmmaker, and painter, renowned for her surreal, hand-crafted animated shorts. Her landmark film Asparagus (1979), which premiered as an installation at the Whitney Museum of American Art, won major awards at festivals. Alongside her films, Pitt created large-scale multimedia performances and installations – including a collaboration with John Cage at Harvard and a major presentation at the Venice Biennale in 1980. Her paintings have been widely exhibited and are held in the collection of MoMA.
