Sonja Wyss

Sonja WYSS was born in the Bahamas, grew up in Switzerland and lives in Amsterdam. She studied at the Rietveld Academie and did a postgraduate course at ArtEZ University of the Arts. She makes installations and cinema, and her work has been shown in galleries and museums and at film festivals the world over. In 2008, her film Winterstilte won a Golden Calf for best sound design and in 2013, Greifensee was nominated for a Golden Calf for best short film. Her first feature-length documentary, Farewell Paradise (2020), was developed at the IDFA Screenwriting Workshop in 2016.
