Sean Durkin
For Sean DURKIN (1981, Canada), fear is one of the driving forces behind his work. He grew up in the United Kingdom and moved to New York at the age of 12 and graduated from the film school of the New York University in 2005. His short Mary Last Seen (2010) was awarded ‘best short film’ at the Director’s Fortnight in Cannes. Martha Marcy May Marlene, his feature debut, won him a Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance in 2011. He returned to the UK to direct the TV series Southcliffe (2013). His third film The Iron Claw (2023) is based on the Von Erich wrestling family and was selected for IFFR 2024.
