Robin Laurie
Robin LAURIE (Australia) is a performer, filmmaker, director and researcher whose practice spans theatre, film, community-based performance and movement education. An original member of the Pram Factory Theatre, she is a co-founder of Circus OZ and the first Women’s Circus, and participated in the first Nanjing Acrobatic Project in 1983. Her work has involved long-term collaboration with multilingual and intercultural communities, including East Timorese, Italian, Middle Eastern, Warlpiri and refugee groups, as well as projects in Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Timor-Leste. Laurie’s practice combines serious play, embodied research and collective creation, informed by her background in Feldenkrais movement education and Asian studies.
