Petr Václav

Petr VÁCLAV (1967, Czechoslovakia) studied at the Prague Film School and from 1989 at the FEMIS in Paris. He made several documentaries, among them Cuoc Song o ubitovna, about the Vietnamese minority in his home country. His feature debut Marian (1996) won several awards, including the Silver Leopard and the FIPRESCI Award in Locarno. Many of his follow-up films have also been well received, including We Are Never Alone (2017), which won the Tagesspiegel Award at the Berlinale Film Festival.
