Marika Herz
Marika HERZ (1990, Belarus) has an academic background in cultural studies with a strong interest in world literature, mythology, the Tanakh, art history and cultural theory. She began her creative career as a children’s writer before discovering stop-motion animation. Drawing inspiration from traditional papercut techniques, she crafts a tactile paper universe in her first animated film, Once Upon a Time in Dragonville (2025), premiering at IFFR 2026.
