Herbert Curiël
Herbert Curiël (1927-2021) was of Spanish, Dutch, Surinamese and Indonesian descent. He worked (since 1953) as scriptwriter, assistant producer and director, before making his first short film in 1970 The Activist. He made several major Dutch features.
