Henry Barakat

Henry BARAKAT (1914-1997, Egypt) was a well-known Egyptian filmmaker with a career spanning 50 years. He directed some of the most famous films in the history of Egyptian cinema and was awarded at several international film festivals, including Berlin, Cannes, Jakarta and Valencia. He is best known for El-Bab el maftuh (1963), Hassan wa Nayima (1959) and Leilet al quabd al Fatma (1984).
