Filmsaaz

Saleh Kashefi (1999, Iran), known professionally as Filmsaaz, is an audiovisual artist from Tehran whose work offers a bold and direct lens on contemporary youth culture. Working primarily with no-budget filmmaking methods, Filmsaaz develops raw, performative films that circulate between fiction, documentary and self-representation. Their films have screened internationally at festivals including Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, Locarno, Visions du Réel, IDFA and FID. They are a recipient of the Prince Claus Seed Award, an associated artist at L’Abri, an alum of the ECAL/HEAD Master programme, and currently enrolled at Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains. Their films have screened at more than 200 festivals worldwide, receiving numerous international awards.
