Anna Zamecka
Anna ZAMECKA is a Polish writer and director. Her debut feature film Communion was exhibited at over 100 international festivals and venues, garnering over forty awards, including the European Film Award for Best European Documentary 2017; Locarno Film Festival Critics’ Week Award 2016; and shortlisted for the Best Documentary Feature category at the 91st Academy Awards (Oscars®).
She studied cultural anthropology and photography in Warsaw and Copenhagen. She is a member of the European Film Academy and a 2021 DAAD Artists-in-Berlin programme fellow. She currently resides in the midst of Białowieża Forest at the Polish / Belarusian border.
