Alexandru Solomon

Alexandru SOLOMON (1966, Romania) is a Romanian filmmaker working as a documentary film director and fiction film cinematographer. Solomon emerged as a young director of photography in the early 90s. After graduating from Bucharest’s Camera Department of the Film School, he started making documentaries and filming feature films. Solomon is one of the leading political filmmakers in Romania and is active in the international documentary scene. His work has triggered public debates about the function of documentary film within the public sphere and contributed to re-establishing documentary film as an arena for re-framing Romania’s recent history. Solomon has directed and photographed over a dozen documentaries screened and awarded in European and international festivals.
