Alexandre Bustillo

Alexandre BUSTILLO (1975, France) is one half of the French filmmaking duo along with Julien Maury. He attended the University of Saint-Denis and graduated with a master’s degree in cinema and audiovisual studies. Afterwards, he went on to become a projectionist and then a journalist for the film magazine Mad Movies. In 2005 he met Maury and their fruitful cinematic collaboration began. Their first feature film A l’Interieur (2006) is often described as one of the goriest films ever made in France, it was selected for Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival, won numerous awards around the world and quickly acquired benchmark status. The Soul Eater (2024) will premiere at IFFR 2024.
