Wakamatsu Setsuro

Setsuro WAKAMATSU (1949) is a Japanese TV drama director and filmmaker. He graduated from Akita Commercial High School and Nihon University College of Art, Department of Broadcasting. After working as an assistant director for Telepac’s TV dramas, he joined Kyodo Television in 1986. In addition to his work as a director, he has trained Masayuki Suzuki, Keita Kono, Takao Kinoshita, Masataka Takamaru, Yoshinori Muraya and others. He has also worked with Masato Furuya, Ryo Ishibashi, Tatsuo Yamada, Yuji Oda, Tetsuya Watari and Nanako Matsushima. He has a close relationship with Masahiko Nishimura, who in October 2012 starred in the first stage production Wakamutsa directed, Chikyu no Ousama.
