Ugana Kenichi

Kenichi UGANA (1984, Japan) is a film director and scriptwriter. His representative works include Visitors-Complete Edition (2021), Love Will Tear Us Apart (2023) and Extraneous Matter-Complete Edition (2021), which have been screened at numerous film festivals, including the Torino Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, Porto International Film Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, and MOTELX. His latest film, The Gesuidouz (2024), was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, Sitges Film Festival, among others, and won the Best Feature Film Award at the London International Fantastic Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Montreal Festival du nouveau cinema. Despite writing most of his own screenplays, he is extremely prolific, and his fantastical, punk’s style has earned him a reputation at film festivals around the world.
