Toyoda Toshiaki

Toshiaki TOYODA (1969, Japan) made his debut as a screenwriter for Junji Sakamoto’s 1991 film Ôte and also wrote the screenplay for Sakamoto’s follow-up Biriken (2008). He debuted as a director with the 1998 film Pornostar, which screened at several major international film festivals and was awarded the New Directors Award from the Directors Guild of Japan. His follow-up feature, Blue Spring (2001), was an adaptation of a Taiyô Matsumoto manga and a huge success both in Japan and worldwide.
