Stefan Ivančić

Stefan IVANCIC (1985, Yugoslavia) is a film director, producer and programmer. He decided to turn his life around after receiving his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. He attended the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade to train in film directing. His short films were selected in numerous international festivals such as Cannes, Rotterdam, FID Marseille, San Sebastián, Visions du Réel and Torino. Stefan is the producer of the feature film The Load (2018) by Ognjen Glavonić, which premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, and a co-producer of You Have the Night (2018) by Ivan Salatić, and Have You Seen This Woman? (2022) by Dušan Zorić and Matija Gluščević, both of which premiered at the Settimana Internazionale della Critica of the Venice Film Festival. His filmography also includes the co-productions The Elegy of Laurel (2021) by Dušan Kasalica, the Montenegrin submission to the 95th Academy Awards, and the documentary My Swiss Army (2024) by Luka Popadić. He is a member of the selection committee of the Locarno Film Festival and also programmes the Belgrade Auteur Film Festival. He teaches at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and is a member of the European Film Academy.
