Sophie Hyde
Sophie HYDE (1977, Australia) is an Australian filmmaker, writer and producer based in Adelaide, South Australia. She is a co-founder of Closer Productions and is known for work that moves between documentary and fiction, often exploring intimacy, identity and unconventional family structures. She gained international recognition with 52 Tuesdays (2014), followed by Animals (2019) and Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022). Her semi-autobiographical film Jimpa, starring Olivia Colman and John Lithgow, premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and was selected for IFFR 2026.
