Sasaki Yusuke
SASAKI Yusuke (1985, Japan) is an artist, filmmaker and scholar. He holds a doctoral degree from the Tokyo University of the Arts and is a lecturer at Tottori University. He made his directorial debut with Letter (2002), which screened at IFFR. In 2010, he directed Always Dreaming… So, No Sleep. He directed its follow-up Our Brand-New Landscape Kasanegafuchi that same year. Cinephilia Now: Part 1 – Secrets Within Walls (2020) is his second film to screen at IFFR. He often uses landscape cinema to examine Japanese culture and its history.
