Sally Cruikshank
Sally CRUIKSHANK (1949, USA) is an independent animator who began her career in the early 1970s. Working largely outside studio systems, she developed a distinctive hand-drawn animation style marked by surreal humour, rhythmic movement and jazz-influenced timing. She is best known for Quasi at the Quackadero (1975), a short film that brought her wider recognition and led to commissions for film and television. Alongside independent shorts, she has contributed animated sequences to feature films and long-running television programmes, maintaining a personal visual language across commercial and non-commercial contexts.
