Sérgio Borges
The short films and videos of Sérgio BORGES (1975, Brazil) have been screened at film festivals all over the world. Sérgio lives in Recife and is the father of five children. He has been creating audiovisual works since 1996 and in 2000 founded Teia, one of the most important collectives in the Brazilian independent audiovisual scene. His films have been shown and awarded at several national and international festivals. His first feature film O Céu sobre os Ombros/The Sky Above (2010) was the big winner at the 43rd Brasília Festival and Best Documentary in 2011 at the 29th Festival Internacional de Cine Uruguayo. Suçuarana is his fourth feature film.
