Ryan Kruger

Ryan KRUGER is a multi-award-winning South African director known for his unique conceptual style, blending narrative with striking visuals. He originally gained his acting diploma from The Guildhall School of Music & Drama and delved into the music scene. He made his directional debut with Fried Barry (2020), a horror-comedy film that earned 22 awards and many nominations globally. Kruger also explored experimental cinema, creating a series of eight short films over five years. He has also acted in international productions like Warrior (2019, TV series), Bloodshot (2020) and The Brothers Grimsby (2016). Kruger brings a dynamic style to his work both in front of and behind the camera, carving out a space for himself as a bold filmmaker with a distinctive voice in South Africa’s film industry.
