Phumulani Ntuli

Artist Phumulani NTULI (1986, South Africa) was first introduced to music through the choir and band of the church in the vibrant community he grew up in. In high school, together with his late friend Themba Moyake, he formed an art club which kicked off his pursuit of an art career. These days, Ntuli explores multiple subjects in an essayistic manner through different forms – collages, performance, and video installation, and questions the position of lens-based media in telling historical events and situations within geopolitical imaginaries.
