Nijitaro
NIJITARO (1976, Japan) is a director, graphic designer, animator and illustrator. His early animated shorts Butch and Usamu-kun won multiple awards in Japan. His work spans computer graphics, including digital books for children, and his films are often shown in educational and cultural programmes in schools and libraries across Europe. His animated short Mojappi: Itadakimasu! Hotcakes (2024) screened at around 50 international children’s and animation festivals and received a Special Mention at Fantoche International Animation Film Festival in Switzerland. Nijitaro also teaches at the Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences at Musashino Art University in Tokyo.
