Newsha Tavakolian

Newsha TAVAKOLIAN (1981, Iran) is a visual artist and photographer who began her career as a photojournalist, working for the Iranian press from the age of 16. Over the years, her focus shifted more towards art photography. In her work, she explores social experiences in her homeland and human conflicts. Tavakolian was the principal laureate of the 2015 Prince Claus Award and her work has found its place within the private collections of international institutions, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, the British Museum and the Boston Museum of Fine Art.
