Nandita Das

Acclaimed actor, writer and filmmaker Nandita DAS (1969, India) has appeared in more than 40 feature films in multiple languages, and been on the jury for film festivals including Cannes. She was conferred the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Government for her contribution to Indo-French cooperation in cinema. An advocate for social justice, Das wrote, directed, produced and starred in the short film& Listen to Her (2020), which aimed to raise awareness about the increase in domestic violence during the pandemic. Her directorial debut, Firaaq (2008), selected for IFFR 2023, won numerous awards.
