Maartje Wegdam
Maartje WEGDAM (1982, The Netherlands) is an independent documentary director with an interest in expanding the genre through innovative ways of storytelling. She previously directed the feature documentary No Place for a Rebel (2017) in collaboration with Copper Views. This production has been screened and awarded at international film festivals and had a cinematic release. Lacuna is her first VR production. Maartje studied documentary directing as a Fulbright student at The New School in New York (2010) and before that at the University of Amsterdam, obtaining an MSc in 2006. Maartje also teaches and researches immersive storytelling at the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences.
