León Siminiani
Award-winning filmmaker León SIMINIANI (1971, Spain) studied Spanish Literature and Film Theory in Spain followed by Film Directing at Columbia University in New York. He directs short films, TV series, documentaries and features. Siminiani alternates his more personal work with investigative journalism projects such as The Asunta Case (a true-crime series for Netflix), which received the Magnolia Award at Shanghai International Film and TV Festival in 2018. His first feature-length film Map (2012) won the Best European Documentary in Seville’s European Film Festival. His most recent film Arquitectura emocional 1959 (2022) was selected for IFFR 2023.
