Julia Jackman
Julia JACKMAN (Canada) is a Canadian filmmaker and screenwriter born in Edmonton, Alberta. She began writing and directing short films in 2015, developing her practice through character-driven narratives that often balance intimacy with stylised storytelling. She previously worked at Stephen Fry’s production company Sprout Pictures and was selected for the Canadian Film Centre Directors’ Lab in 2018, where she made the short Upshot (2019). Her debut feature, Bonus Track (2023), premiered at the London Film Festival, Tallinn Black Nights and was part of Cannes’ Great 8 showcase. Her second feature, 100 Nights of Hero (2025), adapted from Isabel Greenberg’s graphic novel, premiered at Venice Critics’ Week and was selected for IFFR 2026.
