Julia De Simone
Julia DE SIMONE (1982, Brazil) was educated in Creative Documentary and teaches screenwriting for documentary at Academia Internacional de Cinema do Rio de Janeiro. In 2011, she made her feature film debut with Bildungsroman. De Simone also produces a series for the Brazilian television. In 2014, her short film O porto (2014), a collaboration with Clarissa Campolina and the Pretti brothers, was nominated in IFFR’s Tiger Award Competition for Short Films. Her films have been shown at screenings in São Paulo, Madrid and Amsterdam. For her fiction feature film debut Praia Formosa (2024) she received the Hubert Bals Fund grant by IFFR in 2014.
