Jonás Trueba

Jonás TRUEBA (1981, Spain) has written and directed the feature films Todas las canciones hablan de mí/Every Song Is About Me (2010), for which he landed the Goya for Best New Director, Los ilusos/Wishful Thinkers (2013), Los exiliados románticos/The Romantic Exiles (2015), winner of the Special Jury Prize at Malaga Festival, La reconquista/The Reconquest (2016), competitor in the Official Selection at San Sebastian Festival, and La virgen de agosto/The August Virgin (2019), winner of a Special Jury Mention and the FIPRESCI Prize at Karlovy Vary Festival, also nominated for Best Foreign Film at the César Awards. He also co-wrote two films by Víctor García León, and El baile de la Victoria/The Dancer and the Thief with Fernando Trueba, 2009, for which he was nominated for a Goya Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. He has made music videos and is the author of the book Las ilusiones.
