Hlynur Pálmason

Hlynur PÁLMASON (1984, Iceland) is a visual artist, writer and filmmaker who lives and works between Iceland and Denmark with his wife and three kids. He studied film at the Danish National Film School, graduating with his short film A Painter (2013). His debut feature Winter Brothers (2017) won the Bodil Award for Best Danish Film and the Danish Film Academy’s Robert Award for Best Danish Film and Robert Award for Best Director. Pálmason has said he is interested more by the narrative style and flow of films than he is by the plot. Partly inspired by his life split between Denmark and Iceland, his third feature Godland (2022) was selected for IFFR 2023.
