Hans-Christian Schmid

Hans-Christian SCHMID (1965, Germany) is an award-winning filmmaker, producer, lecturer and co-founder of 23/5, which has produced many of his films. He studied documentary film at the Munich Film Academy followed by scriptwriting at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Schmid has won numerous awards, including Best Direction for Requiem (2006) and Storm (2009). He has guest lectured at film schools in Munich, Ludwigsburg, Cologne and Berlin, where he now lives. His latest film Wir sind dann wohl die Angehörigen (2022) had its international premiere at IFFR 2023.
