George Leonardus Theijssen
George Leonardus THEIJSSEN (1890, Netherlands) worked as a civil servant at the Rotterdam Public Works Department and was involved in the construction of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. He also filmed the various phases of construction between 1932 and 1935, from the drawing board to its opening. In 1970, reels of cinefilms and black-and-white slides were handed over to the museum and the Rotterdam City Archive to turn the six segments into one film. The result, Bouw Museum Boymans (1970), was selected for IFFR 2023.
