Gabriela Gaia Meirelles

Gabriela Gaia MEIRELLES (Brazil), together with Clara Anastácia, is part of ENCRUZA, a decolonial creative duo of women living in the Brazilian diaspora. Meirelles was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro where she studied filmmaking. Her short film AFETO (2019) won the Saint Lucia Prize for Best International Experimental Short Film 2019 at the 17th Bogoshorts, Colombia, and an honorable mention at the Vitória Film Festival. Past works have been exhibited at the Aqua Art Fair Miami; International Video Art House Madrid; LISFE – Leiden International Short Film Experience, Netherlands.
