François Yazbeck
François YAZBECK is a Lebanese sound designer and filmmaker based in Helsinki. He studied filmmaking at Saint-Joseph University of Beirut and then specialised in sound design at Aalto University in Helsinki. As a sound designer, sound editor and foley artist, he has worked on multiple Lebanese, Arab and international films. Yazbeck has also taught cinema courses at high schools and universities. His experimental short films have been part of Videoex, and Arte’s Court-Circuit among others. Nécrose (2024), selected for IFFR 2024, is his debut feature film.
