Filipa Reis
Filipa REIS (1977) and João Miller Guerra (1974) have co-directed films that have been selected and received awards at festivals including IFFR, Cinéma du Réel, New Directors/New Films Festival, IDFA, DokLeipzig, BAFICI, FIDOCS, Festival dei Popoli and DocLisboa. Djon Africa, their debut feature film, premiered in the 2018 IFFR Tiger Competition, and received the FIPRESCI Award and a Jury Special Mention at the 2018 Uruguay International Film festival. Légua is their second narrative feature. In 2008, they founded their production company, Uma Pedra No Sapato, based in Lisbon, where they develop international co-production features by prize-winning Portuguese directors such as Miguel Gomes, Margarida Cardoso and Marco Martins. Under the brand Vende-Se Filmes, Reis and Miller Guerra have also directed and produced over 100 hours of engaging and independent television content broadcast in prime-time national network and cable TV.
