Emmanuelle Nicot
Writer, casting director and filmmaker Emmanuelle NICOT (1985, France) studied at Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Belgium, graduating with her short film Rae (2012). Her follow-up short film, À l’arraché (2016), showed at dozens of festivals and won 17 awards, including the Grand National Prize at the Brussels Short Film Festival and Best Direction at the Le Court en dit Long festival. She did research at an emergency shelter for young victims of abuse before directing her debut feature Dalva (2022), which won the IFFR 2023 Audience Award. Nicot won the 2022 NDR Young Talent Award at the Hamburg Film Festival.
