Elian Mikkola
Queer filmmaker and installation artist Elian MIKKOLA (1990, Finland) holds a BA in journalism from Tampere University and an MFA in Media Production from the University of Regina, Canada. Exploring different mediums and genres, their work focuses on queer and trans perspectives. Since 2016, Mikkola’s short films have screened at several film festivals in Canada and internationally. Their short film SAARI (2016) won the Best Student Film Award and Best Technical Achievement Award in Saskatchewan Independent Film Awards 2016, among other awards.
