Christina Friedrich
Christina FRIEDRICH (1965, Germany) is a filmmaker, writer and producer based in Berlin. She is a collector of biographies, memories and stories, as well as a chronicler of social streams of consciousness, which she translates into various artistic expressions. What connects her cinematographic, theatrical and literary works is an archaeological search for the roots of our understanding of being human and community, which have been buried by cultural, ideological and social erosion. Her attempts to give voice to moments of silence, repression and invisibility run like a common thread through her entire artistic work. Friedrich studied at the Ernst Busch Academy for Performative Arts in Berlin. Her creative investigations all root in the topography of the mythical Harz Mountains, Germany. Her cinematographic, literary and theatrical work has led her to Israel, Morocco, Switzerland, France, Canada, Poland, Lithuania, Austria, Germany and Japan. She is one of the filmmakers showcased in IFFR 2026 The Future Is NOW focus.
