Chris Huang Wen-chang

Celebrated for spearheading the continuation of Taiwan’s traditional bùdàixì glove puppetry, Chris Huang WEN-CHANG (1955, Taiwan) is a filmmaker, producer and head of Pili International Multimedia – a business venture established with his family. He has produced more than 30,000 hours of the long-running television series Pili, which has been running since the 1980s. He wrote and directed The Legend of the Sacred Stone (2000), following up more than 20 years later with DEMIGOD: The Legend Begins (2022). Selected for IFFR 2023, the animated wuxia epic tells the origin story of Su Huan-jen, a popular character from the show.
