Bùi Thạc Chuyên
Bùi THẠC CHUYÊN (1968, Vietnam) is a director and writer. He studied theatre and directing at the Academy for Theatre and Film in Hanoi. In 1991, he directed his first short film Eternal Sadness which brought him the golden prize at the Vietnam Festival of Short Movies. In 2006, Living in Fear won the Asian New Talent Award and was selected for IFFR 2007. In 2025, he released the war film Tunnels: Sun in the Dark, set in the Vietnam War. His films often reflect the reality of his country, and the complex historical context that surrounds it.
