Anand Patwardhan

Acclaimed filmmaker Anand PATWARDHAN (1950, India) studied literature, sociology and communication. He has made political documentaries for 30 years, and his films have garnered numerous awards, including the Special Jury Award at Cinéma du Réel for Hamara Shahar/Bombay Our City (1985) and Best Feature-Length Documentary at International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam for Vivek (2018). His films have screened at IFFR on multiple occasions, including, most recently, In the Name of God (1992) at IFFR 2023.
