Aleksei Romanov

Alexey ROMANOV (1958, Sakha Republic, Russia) is a film director, screenwriter, producer and graduate of the directing faculty of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), under the mentorship of Sergei Gerasimov. He founded the Creative Association Severfilm in Yakutia and later the National State Film Company Sakhafilm, where he has been the artistic director since 1992. He is also the Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Sakha and of the Far Eastern Federal District Film Commission. His works include over 20 feature, documentary and popular science films and have been screened in film festivals all over the world, including the Czech Republic, Spain, Hungary, USA, Russia and Poland.
