In this experimental short, Cyan Bae reenacts scientific processes of data recollection that serve to train AI machines in emotion recognition patterns. The light and playful tone of these processes –involving performances, interviews and ratings – contrasts heavily with their application: to implement algorithmic practices of security. Welcome to Set is a politically charged film about how technology shapes our world.
