Join us for the Drawing the Tiger workshop, where participants will be able to experiment with painting and mixed media techniques based on the theme of migration. Together, we’ll reflect on the history of the city of Rotterdam, the influence of migration, the communities that make this city so rich, and on how migratory processes are reflected in the participants’ experiences, reproducing them within an artistic context.
We’ll begin by exploring Rotterdam’s migration histories and open up a conversation where participants can share their own experiences and perspectives on movement, identity and belonging. Through writing or drawing, you’ll translate the conversation into your own visual or written language, a personal response to what resonated with you about migration and place. Using the iconic IFFR Tiger as your creative anchor, you’ll develop your own artwork that weaves together different painting techniques with your personal perspective on migration and belonging.
