As a child, director-of-photography-turned-artist Adam Barker-Mill had received from his parents a magic lantern with four sets of slides. Decades later, when considering the beginning of his obsession with colour and light, Barker-Mill used these sets as the main source for Lantern Magic. A moving image tribute to an all but lost progenitor of cinema and mankind’s undying delight in telling stories.
