It is not unusual for photographers to move beyond the framework of the still image and explore the realm of the moving images. This is the case for visual artists and filmmakers Ine Lamers (The Radiant Screen, 2025) and Sam Koopman (Work(ing Together) in Process, 2025). Both makers are pushing the boundaries of documentary and fiction, using the camera as a research tool in order to explore relationships between people and landscapes. Whereas Lamers takes an observatory approach to a peripheral urban environment, Koopman becomes a protagonist as he investigates a local narrative.
